In the early hours of Friday morning, the Civil Protection Forces in Qena managed to take control of a fire that broke out in the St. Gerges Church, without casualties or injured.
The beginning was that the security services in the Qena Security Directorate received a notification from the operating room stating that a fire was reported in the St. Gerges Church in Qaft, and immediately the fire and ambulance cars were pushed to the accident site.

By moving and examining, a fire broke out in the St. Gerges Church in the city of Qaft, and a number of homes were set, and the civil protection forces succeeded in controlling the fire before an extension of the neighboring areas without casualties or injured.
The preliminary examination revealed that the cause of the fire is due to the occurrence of a short circuit that led to the flames of the church.
A report of the incident was released and the investigation authorities were notified to complete the investigations, which mandated the Criminal Investigation Department to intensify efforts to uncover the circumstances of the fire and limit the damage.
