Canadian study: Caffeine may hinder the brain’s recovery at night and affect the quality of sleep in young people

A team of researchers at the Canadian University of Montreal conducted a study through which they reached that the stimulant caffeine in coffee, tea, chocolate, soft drinks and energy drinks may hinder the recovery and rest of the brain, especially among young people.

The research team, whose results, have used the COMMUNICATIONS BIOLOKY techniques, artificial intelligence techniques and Electrical Electrical Planning (EEG) to monitor night activity of the brains of 40 healthy adults.

The brains of the brains of these adults were recorded during two separate nights; The first is after taking capsic capsules 3 hours before bed and an hour, and the second after taking an imaginary drug capsules at the same time.

The study showed, for the first time, that caffeine increases the complexity of brain signals and enhances what is known as nervous embarrassment during sleep, and this effect was clearer in younger adults.

The main researcher in the study, Dr. Julie Carrir at the University of Montreal, said: “The condition of the nervous embarrassment is similar to the performance of the orchestra: if it is quiet more than necessary, nothing happens, and if it is messy, noise prevails, but in the event of balance, the performance is organized and rich at the same time, which is the optimal condition to enable the brain to process information efficiently, adaptation, learning and decisions quickly.”

She added, through the university’s website: “Caffeine stimulates the brain and pushes it towards a state of nervous embarrassment, so it becomes more vigilant and response, and this condition is useful, during the day, to focus, but it may impede sleep at night, as it may prevent the brain from relaxing and recovering as it should.”

The researchers noted that the effects of (nervous embarrassment) were much stronger among young people between the ages of 20 and 27, compared to those between the ages of 41 and 58, especially during the sleeping stage associated with dreams.

The team noted that the results emphasize the importance of understanding the complex effects of caffeine on brain activity across different age groups, especially in light of its wide use globally as a daily solution to combat fatigue.
