Britain, the United States and a number of allies today warned against Russia -backed cyber campaign, especially aimed at delivering support to Ukraine, as well as logistical entities and Western technology companies, and these warnings come in light of the escalation of cyber tensions associated with the conflict in Ukraine.
A cycle attack targeting Ukrainian airports and ports
Paul Chichester, Director of Operations at the British National Security Center NCSC, stated that this malicious campaign launched by the Russian Military Intelligence Service is a serious danger to the targeted organizations, including that participation in delivering aid to Ukraine.
A statement issued by the center indicated that cyber attacks were not limited to the authorities concerned with Ukrainian support, but rather extended to target other vital sectors in many NATO member states, and these sectors include: Defense, IT services, marine services, airports and ports, and air traffic management systems, according to Reuters.
This warning was issued coordinated with the United States, France, Germany and other allies, calling on organizations to take immediate measures to protect themselves from these threats.
Chichester strongly appealed to the institutions, saying: We strongly urge institutions to see the tips of threats and reduce their intensity in warning to help protect their networks.
