The head of the Foreign Affairs, Defense and National Security Committee in the House of Representatives, Dr. Hassan Bouhmas, that the committee achieved an achievement rate of 77% during the third regular session of the sixth legislative semester.
He stated that the committee received 38 topics that were referred to during the third session, represented in 14 projects by law, 11 proposals with a desire, 10 law proposals and 3 decisions for the Shura Council, while the committee held 16 meetings, and issued 108 correspondence, and approved 29 reports submitted, and the committee also ended from 25 topics that varied between 11 proposals with a desire and eight projects by law and 4 proposals by law And two decisions of the Shura Council.
While the committee has completed 77% of the topics, it may have 10 topics by 23% that is still under study, and ranged between 6 proposals by law and 4 projects by law.
Bouhmas said that the most prominent topics studied by the committee are: a draft law to agree to Bahrain’s accession to the agreement on road traffic, the draft foreigners ’law“ migration and residence ”, a draft law on identity card, the law of reformist justice for children and to protect them from ill -treatment and a draft law on penalties and alternative measures. The committee also studied according to what its chairman mentioned the draft laws joining the Vienna Agreement, amending the Penal Code The Immigration and Residence Law.
