Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqji said on Thursday that the United States will bear legal responsibility if Israel launches an attack on Iranian nuclear facilities.
Araqji sent a message to the Secretary -General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, that Iran will consider “America involved in any Israeli attack on nuclear establishments.”
The Iranian Foreign Ministry indicated that “the leaks on Israeli plans to attack Iranian nuclear facilities are disturbing and calling for an immediate international condemnation.”
She added that “Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is trying to thwart diplomatic paths to escape from his international arrest warrant.”
She continued: “Iran will not hesitate in the strong response to any aggression and will defend its interests by all means.”
She pointed out that the Iranian -United Nations message “is a serious warning” before taking defensive steps, stressing the need for the international community to take “preventive measures” against Israel’s threats to Iran.
For his part, an Iranian Revolutionary Guard spokesman said that “if Israel commits foolishness and assaulted Iran, it will face a destructive and decisive response.”
Israel is conducting preparations for a quick blow to Iran’s nuclear facilities if negotiations collapsed between the United States and Iran, according to two Israeli sources informed of the “Axios” website.
The two sources said that the Israeli intelligence had instead of believing that reaching a nuclear agreement was imminent to believe that the talks were about to collapse.
One of the exporters indicated that the Israeli army believes that the “opportunity window” to carry out a successful blow may be closed soon, so if the negotiations fail, Israel will have to move quickly, while the source refused to disclose the reason for the army’s belief that the effectiveness of the strike would be less later.
The two sources confirmed a previous report to the American “CNN” that the Israeli army is conducting training and preparations for a possible blow in Iran.
One of them said: “A lot of training has been conducted, and the American army is watching everything and realizes that Israel is preparing.”
Another Israeli source added: “Benjamin Netanyahu is awaiting the collapse of nuclear talks and the moment of Trump’s disappointment from negotiations, so that it is open to give the green light.”
An American official told Exeios that the Trump administration is concerned that Netanyahu will provide the strike without obtaining prior approval from the American president.
