Dr. Abdul Rahman Sadiq Askar indicated that the practice of various types of sports, including football; It has an important role in promoting understanding and rapprochement between peoples, as it is a common language that it understands and gathered around various cultures and ages, indicating that organizing this event for the second year of consecutive under the auspices of the General Sports Authority and in cooperation with the Bahrain Football Association carries many contents that enhance the basis through which the United Nations launched a proposal from the Kingdom of Bahrain and a number of countries this leading initiative.
For his part, Sheikh Ali bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Bahrain Football Association, expressed many thanks and appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, for his prominent contributions to supporting and promoting the sports movement and athletes, and developing the sports system in the Kingdom of Bahrain in general and football in particular, indicating that his high support and great and distinguished efforts were reflected in the achievement of concrete achievements of Bahraini football, noting the authority General Sports for the effectiveness and organization of the International Football Day in cooperation with the Bahrain Football Association.
He stressed that the extensive efforts made by His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa contributed to the elaboration of the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the king of the country, may God protect and preserve him, in the advancement of Bahraini sport towards high levels that push towards achieving the continuous achievements, which confirm the advanced and prosperous level of sports in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The President of the Bahrain Football Federation added that the efforts of His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa are also based on embodying the support and attention of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, the Prime Minister, may God protect him, in supporting the sports sector and his affiliates, through the purposeful plans, programs and initiatives launched by His Highness the Prime Minister with the aim of raising the level and status of this vital sector and pushing it towards achieving more civilizational gains of the Kingdom.
He said: “His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa seeks, through his continuous efforts, to translate the development strategies that His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, representative of His Majesty the Humanitarian and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, sought realistic goals that contribute to the continued Bahraini sport in achieving concrete achievements that enhance the high position it has reached at the continental and international levels, and that celebrating the International Football Day It strengthens the role of football as an effective tool for achieving sustainable development goals, as football represents an opportunity to enhance education and develop social and leadership skills for youth, as well as its prominent role in promoting pluralism and rapprochement between different peoples.
