The Aswan International Film Festival for Women’s Film Festival looked at the activities of its ninth session today, Wednesday, May 7, by announcing the festival’s arbitration committees for the films winning prizes this year, and the ceremony began with Republican peace, then promo presented to the most prominent events and reviewing the films winning the ninth session.
The session this year witnessed great and fruitful cooperation between the festival and the European Union in Egypt during the workshop program and the Note Forum, especially with regard to women’s issues and their rights, helping to empower women and equality and fight violence against women, support filmmakers from directors and writers who work to support social issues, because films send important messages about women, their issues and their role in society, as well as work to empower them in multiple aspects, and stressed the European Union in its continuation In support of training programs for filmmaking and supporting this industry.
The media, Rabab Al -Sharif, who presented the closing ceremony, said in an official statement that the festival presented for the first time the activities in the street and the public library of Egypt, and thanked all the institutions, entities and bodies supporting the festival.
She added that the ninth session witnessed 6 competitions in which 72 films competed, and praised the efforts of the technical office in the programmed management, Safa Murad, who thanked the festival management, film makers and arbitration committees, and also thanked the southern institutions that make films about Upper Egypt, and presented two young outputs from Aswan girls.
The scriptwriter Mohamed Abdel Khaleq, head of the festival and journalist Hassan Abu El -Ela, director of the festival, honored the Spanish director Anna Petros, a cinema professor, who thanked the festival and confirmed that she is visiting Egypt for the first time and she is happy to participate and honor her at the Aswan International Film Festival and completed the closing ceremony of his ceremony by announcing the awards.
Workshop films Awards
The first place in the workshop film competition won the movie Wad Rouh, and the second place won the second place between the Alaa films and his table, and the jury of the competition granted a certificate of appreciation for the movie Shadbamb, and the committee also granted a special notice of acting in my moment for a moment, and the last scene and a special mention of the idea of the movie “Shehrazad west of the railway.
Films with impact
The jury of a film competition with a special impact of a voice from the downtown film was awarded, directed by Al -Faisal Badr, and the jury awarded the award for the best idea for the movie “Fatima” directed by Muhannad Diab, and won the award for the best parenting film directed by Rodina Kandil.
South Film Competition
The jury of the Southern Film Competition, which carries the awards, was awarded the name of the writer Atef Bishai, a special notification and a certificate of appreciation for the film that was wasting the direction of Medhat Saleh, and the Special Jury Prize for the movie of an implanted tree, directed by Lisa Kamal Attia, of 5000 pounds, went, and the second prize for the film directed by Sarah Hussein, of 10 thousand pounds, and won the first prize, directed by Bishoy Rifaat.
European Union Award
The jury of the European Union award was awarded a special mention of the movie “Butterflies” from Finland, and the first award won the movie “Qamar” from Austria.
Short films competition
The jury of the short film competition was awarded a special notice of the Egyptian movie and no consolation for women, and the jury award went to the movie “Empty Speeds from Poland, and won the award for the best director and best film for the Swedish film services.
Long movies competition
The Nadia Lutfi Award for Best Actor in the Long Film Competition was won by Matteo Simoni and the child Basil Whitili for the Milan movie, which is a joint production between Belgium and the Netherlands.
The Latifa Al -Zayat Award for Best Screenplay to Kim C Yun went to the movie Best I have the least you have, which is produced by South Korea, and won the jury prize bearing the name of Rachida Abdel Salam, the Polish film, silent trees.
The Bahija Hafez Award won the best director of the Lagos Film Film Lagos, namely Akinoia Pissula, Antazo Segon Elijah, Dakaboutina, James Tyler, Matthew Service, Akishoko Samuel, Ugonagmamla Timitop and the film joint production between Nigeria, Germany, South Africa and the United States of America.
