Students of the Department of Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the Arab Gulf University celebrated the International Nursing Day in the presence of the President of the Arab Gulf University, Dr. Saad bin Saud Al Al, and his deputies and a number of heads of departments and academics from various departments at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, by organizing an interactive student exhibition, in which male and female students presented various pillars that reviewed the history of nursing in Bahrain, and its vital role in supporting the national economy through investing in the nursing cadres. This, the Arkan highlighted the most prominent nursing figures who left a fingerprint in the field of health in the world, the Gulf, and Bahrain, as well as a presentation of the various nursing specialties and its effect on upgrading the health system.
In this context, the head of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Dr. Hawazin Rawas, praised the great efforts made by nursing cadres in hospitals and health centers in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, noting that they “constitute the cornerstone of the health care system, and they play a pivotal role in promoting community health, and providing humanitarian and professional care to patients in various circumstances.”
She added, “The slogan of the International Nursing Day this year:” Our nurses, our future, support the nurses strengthens the economy. “It reflects the importance of supporting this vital group, and highlighting their exceptional contributions, especially in light of the continuous challenges facing the health sector locally and globally.”
She emphasized that “the nursing profession represents the backbone of any successful health system, and that workers in this field represent the beating heart of health systems, as their efforts contribute to improving the quality of life and enhancing economies through caring for societies and promoting public health.”
She praised the qualitative efforts made by nursing students to make this event a success, interaction and praise from all attendees, and at the same time stressed the commitment of the Arab Gulf University to graduate qualified nursing cadres that meet the needs of the health sector in the region, through advanced educational programs focusing on developing clinical skills and modern knowledge of nursing science students, to be active partners in raising the level of medical services in The near future.
In a related context, the university hosted the activities of the Nursing and Camel Association in Bahrain as part of its celebration of International Nursing Day, where the members of the association gave scientific lectures and discussions on the importance of nursing in the national economy and its role in supporting health sustainability.
