The Shura Council discussed in its session yesterday, the report of the Foreign Affairs, Defense and National Security Committee regarding a draft law to ratify the agreement between the government of the Kingdom of Bahrain and the government of the Sultanate of Oman, regarding the removal of double taxation and preventing evasion and avoiding taxes in relation to income taxes, accompanying Decree No. 12 of 2025.
The decision of the committee, Dr. Bassam Al -Banmah Muhammad that the draft law aims to enhance economic cooperation between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Sultanate of Oman, and in particular regarding the removal of double taxation on income tax and prevention of evasion and tax aviation, and the agreement aims to develop economic, commercial and investment relations between the two parties, and enhance cooperation in tax issues, which contributes to creating new investment opportunities and expanding the scope of joint bilateral cooperation.
The Council decided to take the final opinion by approveing the draft law in an urgent manner in the same session.
The Council also passed a draft law to ratify an agreement to encourage and protect investment between the government of the Kingdom of Bahrain and the government of the Republic of Korea, accompanying Decree No. 9 of 2025, after discussing the report of the Foreign Affairs, Defense and National Security Committee, which included the committee’s recommendation to agree to the draft law.
