Deputy Dr. Maryam Al -Dhaaan organized a field event to distribute free seedlings in the walkway of Issa Al -Lutti City, in cooperation with the municipality of the southern region, within the initiative “In our hands we plant it”, in an atmosphere full of familiarity and cooperation, and with the wide participation of the people of the second district in the southern governorate.
The event witnessed the presence of a number of ambassadors of friendly countries, who expressed their admiration for the spirit of love and harmony that characterizes Bahraini society, praising at the same time the efforts made in promoting the culture of afforestation and environmental initiatives of a societal nature, which reflects the Kingdom’s commitment to environmental sustainability and improving the quality of life.
The event included a number of entertainment and educational programs for children, as well as a corner to raise awareness of the importance of agriculture and afforestation, which gave an awareness and recreational character that included all family members.
On this occasion, MP Dr. Maryam Al -Dhafin expressed her pride in the vast societal participation witnessed by the event, stressing that afforestation is not only an aesthetic element in the urban environment, but rather a practice that enhances the health of society and contributes to creating a more balanced and sustainable environment.
She added: “We believe that afforestation is a societal responsibility that starts from individuals and local institutions, and therefore the initiative ‘in our hand we grow’ came to be a platform for cooperation between citizens and official bodies for a green and healthy environment. I extend my sincere thanks and appreciation to the municipality of the southern region for its great support and continuous efforts in the success of this qualitative environmental initiative.”
Al -Dhahn also emphasized that these initiatives reflect the vision of the Kingdom of Bahrain in promoting societal partnership and achieving sustainable development goals, calling for continuing to work to spread environmental awareness in various regions.
