Agriculture launches free veterinary convoys to take care of more than 15 thousand animal heads and a bird in 10 governorates

The Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, represented by the Public Authority for Veterinary Services, launched a series of free veterinary convoys in a number of villages of 10 governorates, to provide examination, detection and treatment services for more than 15 thousand heads of animals and birds, as part of a comprehensive plan to support animal health for free.

Dr. Hamed Al -Aqsas, Chairman of the Public Authority for Veterinary Services, said that these convoys come in implementation of the assignments of the Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, Mr. Alaa Farouk, and under the supervision of Eng. Mustafa Al -Sayyad, Deputy Minister, within an integrated plan that includes expansion of immunization campaigns against rabies, and providing free veterinary services in villages and rural areas, with a focus on the concepts of animal welfare and the support of the breadwinner.

He added that the last convoys included villages in the governorates: Damietta, Beheira, Western, Dakahlia, Giza, Cairo, Ismailia, Menoufia, Aswan, and Luxor, noting that the veterinary teams provided free treatment services that included the treatment of internal and genital diseases, spraying and dance against parasites, fortifications, sonar checks, in addition to treating birds.

He explained that the Beheira Governorate witnessed the treatment of more than 6,200 livestock and birds, compared to 1,200 heads in Damietta, 720 animals and 3,194 birds in Giza, as well as providing the veterinary service to about 4,000 birds and 120 animals in Gharbia.

In a related context, the commission organized extensive educational seminars in the targeted villages, which dealt with the application of biological safety procedures in poultry farms, veterinary preparations for Eid al -Adha, the importance of preventive fortifications, and the foundations of animal welfare.

The head of the commission pointed to the implementation of field campaigns to fortify the owned and free dogs against rating disease, in the governorates of Ismailia, Port Said, Luxor, Giza, Dakahlia, and North Sinai, especially in the areas from which reports of dog dogs were received, in coordination with environmental and local departments, and in implementation of Article 23 of Law No. 29 of 2023 regarding the possession of dangerous dogs and animals.

The sniper concluded his statements by confirming that these efforts come within the framework of an integrated plan to protect livestock, reduce the spread of diseases, achieve environmental balance, and enhance the culture of societal awareness about dealing with animals and their kindness.
