Dr. Louay Saad Eddin Nasr, the Acting President of Aswan University, participated in a symposium that was held under the title Enhanced the Roles of NGOs in Sustainable Development and Climate Work, sustainable empowerment, with the participation of Egyptians Without Borders, and a number of civil society institutions, which dealt with development priorities within the framework of Egypt Vision 2030.

During his participation, he stressed that there is a gap that appeared between the targets of sustainable development and the reality of societal conditions, especially with increased poverty rates in some areas.

Development challenges in the governorate

Nasr pointed out that one of the most prominent development challenges in the governorate is the structural problems facing the agricultural sector, which is one of the largest economic sectors in Aswan, in addition to the urgent need to intensify awareness campaigns with digital literacy and enhance the culture of financial inclusion, especially in light of the lack of a wide segment of citizens, especially villagers, for the skills required to deal with banks and financial institutions.

The President of Aswan University added that the integration between the efforts of the state and civil society is a representative in the National Alliance to support civil action and international institutions such as UNICEF, in addition to the vital role of the university through its specialized colleges, can contribute effectively to achieving higher development rates, in translation of the goals of Egypt Vision 2030 in light of the directions of the new Republic.
