The Palestinian Resistance Movement, Hamas, confirmed today that the return of the Israeli soldier, Idan Alexander, was the result of serious contacts with the American administration and the efforts of the mediators, and not the fruit of the Israeli aggression or what it described as the illusion of military pressure.

In an official statement, the movement said that the Prime Minister of Benjamin Netanyahu is misleading his people, and he failed to restore his captivity through aggression, stressing that Alexander’s return confirms that the only way to restore prisoners and stop the war is through serious negotiations and exchange of exchange.
In the same context, the American Special Envoy for the Middle East, Steve Wittouf, arrived at the hostage square in Tel Aviv, on his first visit to meet the families of prisoners and detainees in the Gaza Strip.
“The return of Alexander inspires many, and we have had the opportunity to speak with the American president in this regard, adding that the United States is committed to returning all prisoners.
These developments come in light of the escalation of political and diplomatic moves in order to reach a calm and end of the ongoing war in the Gaza Strip, amid increasing international calls for a ceasefire and the exchange of prisoners.
