The Balance Council announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding with the American company «RTX» and the Emirates International Aluminum Company, in order to enable the UAE aluminum to produce gallium metal, which is a basic metal used in supply chains worldwide. The memorandum aims to create a project to extract and refine gallium from the Alumina refinery of the Emirates International Aluminum Company in Abu Dhabi and to consolidate the Emirates as the second largest Galium producing country in the world. Galium is used in many advanced industries, including in semiconductor, electric vehicles, medical devices, and communications infrastructure, and is one of the basic minerals in defense industries.
