In an innovative medical step that blends the superior smell capabilities of dogs and advanced technology, the Emerging Israeli Biotechnology company is Spotitearly Inc to develop a revolutionary home test for early detection of cancer, which combines artificial intelligence with trained dogs.
How does the test work?
The user receives a home test set that includes a high -tech mask that resembles a N95 mask, breathes inside the mask for three minutes, then sends the sample via mail to the company’s laboratory, and in the laboratory, the trained dogs smell the sample to determine any indicators on the presence of cancer.
Chlomy Madar, CEO of Spotitearly, explained that dogs are able to discover volatile organic compounds, which are accurate molecules resulting from cancer -related biological processes that are transmitted from blood to exhale air.
The sensitivity of the sense of smell in dogs is estimated that it exceeds their counterparts in humans by 10 thousand to 100 thousand times, which makes it ideal for early detection of diseases.
Artificial intelligence technology
During the sample smell, the Lucid platform monitors dogs and physiological signs, and the platform collects thousands of data per second to determine whether the sample contains a cancerous imprint, with the combination of artificial intelligence and the sense of smell that allows accurate, fast and developed results.
A recent clinical trial showed that the system achieves a resolution of up to 94%, and the test is scheduled to be launched in the market in 2026 at an estimated price of $ 250.
The company plans to cooperate with health insurance companies to cover costs, which facilitates its access to a greater number of patients, and the importance of early detection is that most of the cancer is diagnosed in late stages, which makes the treatment more difficult and costly.
