A medical team at the Heart Hospital at the University of Assiut managed to extract a stable fiery projectile in the lung membranes of a twenty -year -old girl, using advanced surgical chest telescope technology.
The hospital had received a girl in the second decade of her life, and was suffering from a gunfire injury in the chest area.

Immediately, the medical team conducted the necessary examinations and procedures, which revealed the stability of the fiery projectile inside the tissues of the right lung.
An accurate debate of the condition and the necessary radiations that confirmed the stability of the projectile between the lung membranes were performed, so that the medical team has very accurate surgery, and the fiery projectile was successfully extracted using a surgical chest endoscopy through a surgical opening of no more than 2 cm, which contributed to maintaining the integrity of the lung and reducing damage to the lowest, in addition to maintaining the aesthetic shape of the chest wall.
The operation was crowned with full success, and the girl’s condition witnessed a remarkable improvement, as she was allowed to leave the hospital only 48 hours after the surgery was in good health.
