Walid Jamal Al -Din, Chairman of the General Authority for the Economic Zone of the Suez Canal, and Major General Pilot Akram Jalal, Governor of Ismailia, laid the cornerstone of the Hai Tech -North Africa Factory project, which is the first Thai industrial investment in the economic zone and in Egypt.

The project is located on an area of 64 thousand square meters, with total investments of 20 million dollars, or about one billion Egyptian pounds, and provides about 2000 direct job opportunities, and at full operation it is targeted to produce 6 million pieces annually, to meet the needs of global markets, especially Europe and America.
The ceremony was attended by: Wasoon Vitanakort, Executive Director of Hai Tech-Thailand, President of Thailand North Africa, Nihad Abtisherbutra, Commercial Attaché, representative of the Thai embassy in Cairo, in addition to a number of economic leaders of the Suez Canal, Ismailia Governorate, and the Embassy of the Kingdom of Thailand in Cairo, and Hi Tech.
On the sidelines of the ceremony, Mr. Walid Jamal Al-Din expressed his happiness that the economic zone of the Suez Canal has become the base of the start of Thai investment in Egypt, especially the Al-Qantara region, west of the promising, which has become a leading castle for the textile and clothing industry locally and regional, and also indicated that the “Hi-Tech-Tech North Africa” project in the west of Qantara West, represents a cultural for the promotional efforts made by the economic zone made by the region During the past three years, targeting attracting major global investments in the sectors that are targeted to settle in the authority, as there are about 130 factories under construction in a simultaneous way, which is unprecedented in the history of the authority, and it also represents a success for the direct investments that the economic zone has made in the infrastructure and facilities in all industrial areas and marine ports affiliated with it to reach it to the highest international standards, pointing out that the factory expected to be opened at the beginning of the year Next, it is an affirmation of the successful partnership and close relations between Egypt and Thailand, and it adds a new success story for the West Qantara region, which is characterized by the availability of dense artistic workers, and the agricultural back that enhances the localization of industries such as textiles, clothes and food industries that in turn support value -added chains around the world, especially in light of the global challenges facing supply chains that require more effort And the integration between the public and private sectors to support Egyptian exports in these highly demanding sectors.
