Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population, said that the new health policy in Egypt is based on the principle of prevention before treatment, and this approach is what helped in facing complex health challenges, whether in hemophilia or other chronic and genetic diseases.

Early detection of newborn genetic diseases

Abdel Ghaffar added, in his speech during his visit to the Children’s Children’s Hospital, that the hemophilia experience is a successful model of what the state can do when it adopts preventive thought, adding: From the initiative of 100 million health, to early detection programs for genetic diseases of newborns, and we seek to reach the patient before he suffers.

The Minister of Health pointed out that Egypt succeeded, despite the challenges, including the Corona Crisis crisis, in continuing to develop the health system, with the support of development partners, pharmaceutical companies, and NGOs, which played a fundamental role in supporting children’s treatment.

Abdel Ghaffar emphasized that reducing the daily suffering of the child and the family, and preventing brain bleeding and parties, is what gives this project its humanity and importance, commenting: We do not search for numbers, but rather we are looking for a child’s smile that was absent, and happiness or did not sleep from the severity of the pain that you see in the eyes of her son.

The minister concluded his speech by confirming the ministry’s continued expansion of the study and following up the results, to ensure the sustainability of preventive treatment and its circulation to all the targeted groups.
