The competent investigative authorities are conducting investigations into the incident of the collapse of a real estate in the second police department of Assiut, which resulted in the death of 9 people and the injury of another.

For its part, the investigative authorities heard the statements of a number of real estate residents, so they decided that they were notified from the police department two days before the accident, to attend and receive the decision issued by the administrative authority to remove the property, while others decided to accuse the property owners of causing it to collapse, for their desire to evacuate it from the tenants.
Investigations on the incident added that by asking the property owners, they decided that they had informed some of the tenants of the issuance of a decision to remove the property, but they refused to evacuate it, as reported by the specialists from the neighborhood and the engineering administration of the issuance of the removal decision in February 2025, and it was sent to the police station to take the procedures of its announcement.
The Public Prosecution decided to assign the competent authorities to take the necessary measures to preserve the lives of citizens and public and private property, and a committee of specialists in the Housing Directorate in Assiut Governorate formed to inspect the property and examine its file, to explain whether there are previous decisions regarding its removal or restoration, and the determination of the person responsible for not implementing it, as well as the statement of the damage caused by the collapse of the property and its impact on the surrounding buildings, and a completion of completion Investigations.
