Russian President Vladimir Putin, tonight, concluded a lengthy meeting that lasted for more than 4 hours in the city of St. Petersburg, with Steve Whitchov, the special envoy of US President Donald Trump, where the two sides discussed the settlement of the Ukrainian crisis, while the American envoy to Ukraine and Russia Keith Keel, the division of Ukraine, like the German capital, Berlin, after the Second World War as part of the peace agreement.
In this regard, the Russian envoy for investment, Kirill Dmitriev, described the talks between Putin and Wikkov as fruitful, and the Kremlin said in a statement that the meeting discussed the Ukrainian settlement.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that a phone conversation between Putin and Trump has become theoretically possible after Putin’s meeting with Witkov.
On the other hand, White House spokeswoman Caroline Levit said that Wittv in Russia to make direct contacts with the Kremlin, and this is another step within the negotiation process towards a ceasefire and a final peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine.
An American proposal to divide Ukraine
Keith Keel presented a new proposal that includes the division of Ukraine as part of the peace agreement.
Keel suggested that British and French forces be stationed in areas in the western Ukraine to reassure the Ukrainians, in exchange for the presence of the Russian army in the east of the country, as well as the presence of Ukrainian forces and a demilitarized zone between the French and the British forces and the Russian army, according to the British Times.
Trump’s envoy emphasized that the deployment of a French British force west of the Dnibro River, which is part of Ukraine from its north to its south, and passes through the capital Kiev, will not be a provocative work for Moscow.
