Al -Khanka Hospital for Mental Health witnessed the fact that a psychiatric escape escaped last February, during the power outages from the hospital, according to a source in the Mental Health Secretariat, on the review of the details of the incident, for Cairo 24.

The source explained, asking not to be named, that the incident dates back to February 10, where the patient’s deposited patient fled. A from the hospital between 11 am and 1 in the afternoon.
He added that the patient escaped 29 days after he was hospitalized, where he was deposited on January 13, and suffers from schizophrenia with a mental retardation rate, noting that his escape from the hospital was the electricity that was discontinued from the hospital, stressing the editing of a report of the incident.
For his part, the director of the hospital, Dr. Mustafa Khalil, refused to comment on the incident and clarify its circumstances and the administrative measures taken, explaining that he is not authorized to talk in the media, and this is the matter of the General Secretariat of Mental Health.
Earlier, the National Council for Mental Health sent a committee of patient affairs to Al -Khanka Mental Health Hospital; To investigate the incident of entry of a graduate of an impersonator, a psychiatrist, and to examine a patient in the Women’s Department, by order of the former deputy director of the hospital, Dr. Badr Abbas, according to a source in the Ministry of Health familiar with the details of the committee, to Cairo 24.
The source pointed out, asking not to be named, that the committee listened to the statements of the medical team and a number of workers in the women’s department about the incident, in addition to investigating complaints and other facts inside the hospital.
