Update study programs aims to qualify students to be able to meet the needs of the labor market

Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, held a meeting with Mark Hyouard, Director of the British Council in Egypt, in the presence of Dr. Ayman Farid, Assistant Minister for Strategic Planning, Training and Rehabilitation of the Labor Market and Acting Head of Cultural Affairs and Mission, and Dr. Heba Al -Zain, Head of the Education Sector in the British Council, in the Special Education Building in New Cairo.

At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Ayman Ashour valued the depth of relations between Egypt and Britain in the field of higher education and scientific research, which witnessed a great development at the level of partnerships between Egyptian universities and their British counterpart, as well as in academic and student exchange.

The minister added that this meeting is an important opportunity to discuss ways of cooperation between Egyptian and British higher education institutions, and to enhance cooperation in areas of common concern, in a way that contributes to achieving the aspirations of the two countries towards progress and development in these areas.

The minister pointed to the unprecedented support provided by the political leadership to support and develop the system of higher education and scientific research, explaining the recent achievements such as expansion of availability, infrastructure development, and modernization of study programs; It aims to qualify students to be able to meet the needs of the contemporary and future labor market.

Dr. Ayman Ashour pointed to Egypt’s efforts to support innovation and scientific research to serve the industry and the national economy within the presidential initiative “Alliance and Development”, pointing to the importance of the role of universities in achieving the goals of this initiative in line with achieving the goals of the national strategy for higher education and scientific research and Egypt’s 2030 vision.

The meeting dealt with the definition of the Egyptian and British vision in cross -border education, the strategy of internationalizing education, and the expansion of opportunities to obtain a distinguished educational service that contributes to improving performance of academic and research institutions, and upgrading the level of graduates.

For his part, Mark Hyouard expressed the British side’s pride in cooperation with Egypt in the field of higher education and scientific research, and the increase in partnership between Egyptian and British universities during the recent period, stressing the importance of the pioneering role of the Arab Republic of Egypt in the Middle East and North Africa region.
