The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA) warned, today, Thursday, against the depletion of its flour supply in the Gaza Strip, with only 250 food papers remain in its stores two days ago. She noted that the Israeli blockade has been going on for more than 50 days, causing a severe deficiency in the basic supplies, including fuel, medical aid, and children’s vaccines.

UNRWA explained, in an update published on its website, that the escalation of Israeli bombing since the collapse of the ceasefire on March 18th has destroyed the infrastructure and widespread displacement, which increased the exacerbation of the humanitarian crisis. UN spokesman Stefan Dujarric confirmed that children suffer from hunger and patients are deprived of treatment, calling for the immediate lifting of restrictions.

UNRWA called for the end of the siege and the opening of the crossings for the flow of aid, warning of a humanitarian catastrophe that threatens the lives of 2.1 million people in Gaza, with the increasing cases of acute malnutrition among children.
