The Honorable Imam, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Al -Tayeb, Sheikh of Al -Azhar Al -Sharif and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Egyptian Zakat and Charity House, inspected the contents of gifts that will be distributed to children from the memorizers of the Holy Quran in the circles in the most needy villages, as part of a campaign that starts from Sohag Governorate in Upper Egypt.
A statement issued by the “Zakat and Charity House”, today, Thursday, that the campaign includes large quantities of clothes, shoes, Qur’ans, office tools, and candy, which will be distributed to children enrolled in memorization rings in five governorates: Sohag, Qena, Luxor, Aswan, and the Red Sea.
This campaign comes within the framework of Al -Azhar’s keenness to provide a stimulating environment for memorizing the Holy Quran, and supporting distinguished children in the brochures in the most needy villages, in order to enhance their religious and knowledge awareness, and to emphasize the role of Zakat House and Alms in supporting educational and religious projects that contribute to the development of society.
It is worth noting that the Grand Imam, Dr. Ahmed Al -Tayeb, Sheikh of Al -Azhar Al -Sharif, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Zakat House and Certificates, issued a decision earlier to assign Dr. Sahar Nasr, former Minister of Investment and International Cooperation, Advisor to the Sheikh of Al -Azhar, to work as Secretary General of the Zakat House and Certificates, and to assign Major General Amr Lutfi to work as a consultant to the Board of Trustees of the House.
