The conference ceremony for the World Handball Championship for Junior Under -19 years started inside the Abdin Palace in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, as part of preparations for Egypt to host the tournament during the period from 6 to 17 August, with the participation of 32 teams from different continents of the world.

The lottery ceremony witnessed the presence of a number of personalities in the sports community, led by Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr. Hassan Mustafa, President of the International Handball Federation, Dr. Mansouru Arimo, President of the African Handball Federation, alongside Khaled Fathi, President of the Egyptian Handball Federation, and Engineer Khaled Abbas, President of the Administrative Capital for Urban Development Company.
The ceremony was also attended by Mohamed Yahya Lotfi, President of the United Sports Company, Engineer Saif Al -Waziri, Vice -President of the company and member of the United Nations Media Services, in addition to a group of Egyptian handball stars, most notably Karim Hindawi, the Egyptian team goalkeeper, and the star Ibrahim Al -Masry to withdraw the lot.
According to the rankings of the International Handball Federation, the participating teams were divided into four categories, as the Egyptian team came in the first classification, along with the teams: Sweden, Denmark, Hungary, Iceland, Germany, Serbia, and Norway.
According to the championship regulations, the host country “Egypt” has the right to choose the group that will be present in it, after withdrawing the draw for the teams in the fourth, third, and second rankings, after which it selects its group and another team from the first classification, before completing the draw for the rest of the first classification teams.
The eleventh edition of the tournament is witnessing wide participation, as it includes 17 teams from Europe, 5 teams from Africa, 5 from Asia, and 3 teams from South and Central America, in addition to one team from North America and the Caribbean, while waiting for the last team to be determined to complete the final list of the 32 participating teams.
