Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, stressed that the ministry puts within its priorities the development of the capabilities of Egyptian university students and institutes, and their rehabilitation to become active leaders in society, noting the importance of supporting innovation and entrepreneurship as a major path to achieve sustainable development, and in implementation of the National Strategy for Higher Education and Scientific Research, which aims to link education and productive sectors, and transform Egypt into an innovative and sustainable knowledge society, In line with the state’s directions and the mandate of the political leadership.
In this context, the activities of the “Preparation of Social Innovation Leaders” program for Egyptian university students and institutes, organized by the Institute for the Preparation of Leaders at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, under the auspices of Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Mustafa Refaat, Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Universities, and Dr. Karim Hammam, Minister of Student Activities and Director of the Institute, in cooperation with the Supreme Council of Universities and the Student Activities Sector at the Ministry. The program continues until Friday, April 11, 2025, and aims to develop social leadership and innovation skills for university and institutes students, and enable them to address societal challenges through modern tools such as social entrepreneurship and artificial intelligence.
Dr. Ayman Ashour stressed the importance of the program as it is consistent with the state’s directions towards preparing a new generation of influential leaders in society, stressing that university education has become a platform for discovering students ’talents and developing their capabilities to think, in a way that contributes to preparing cadres capable of bringing about change and building a more sustainable and innovative society.
For his part, Dr. Karim Hammam explained that the program combines theoretical and applied aspects, and includes a set of lectures and workshops on national security issues, combating extremist thought, and social innovation in light of the digital transformation, as well as training participants in designing and implementing leadership societal initiatives.
The program deals with a number of specialized axes, the most prominent of which are: developing social leadership skills in innovation environments, social innovation in the era of artificial intelligence, in addition to applied workshops in the fields of social marketing, designing community initiatives, and entrepreneurship.
