Today, Monday, the Cairo Economic Court decided to postpone the consideration of the case accused by five festivals singers, namely: Muslim, Nour Al -Tut, Hamo Al -Tikh, Philo, and Islam Kabonga, to the next May 5 session, to see the technical report in the case.
The trial of Muslim and the light of berries in the case of melody stealing
Sameh Qenawi, the defense of the composer Hassan Donia, said that the court’s decision included the announcement of the report of the defendant, with the prosecutor’s assignment of the announcement, in the case held by the composer Hassan Dunya, in which the five singers and a technical production company accuse the intellectual property rights, through the use of the melody of his famous song, the first life of my life at the festival I want, without obtaining prior permission.
Lawyer Sameh Qenawi, an agent for the composer Hassan Donia, had submitted an official communication in which he accused the singers of stealing the melody and reusing it in lyric content, which he described as incompatible with public taste, and poses a danger to society, calling for the signature of the maximum penalties for the accused to ensure the protection of technical rights and original works.
