Alaa Farouk, Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, Dr. Yasmine Fouad, Minister of Environment, Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr. Ibrahim Saber, Governor of Cairo, Eng. Adel Al -Najjar, Governor of Giza, and Dr. Abdel Hakim Al -Waer, Assistant Director General of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), was opened, the Spring Flowers Exhibition in its 92nd edition, and is held in the Agricultural Museum in Deni.

The ministers and the governor inspected the various wings of the exhibition, and praised the distinguished level reached by the production of flowers, ornamental plants and production requirements in Egypt, as well as the wonderful organization of the exhibition, where this year is held in cooperation with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations “FAO”, and within its activities there is a number of workshops and specialized seminars that discuss the importance of expanding the use of ornamental plants, flowers and afforestation in various regions, And its role in improving environmental quality and contributing to climatic changes.
The Minister of Agriculture welcomed the ministers and the conservatives, praising the cooperation and coordination between the state institutions, which contributed to the exhibition of the exhibition in this impressive and exceptional way, and said that the number of exhibitors exceeded 1660 exhibitors, stressing the state’s interest in the flower sector and ornamental plants, in the context of His Excellency President Sisi in the agricultural sector in general.
Farouk added that Egypt has all the ingredients for the success of the flower sector, and through which Egypt’s dollar outcome can be increased, noting that he will meet with the producers and exporters of ornamental plants and flowers during the exhibition activities, to listen to their proposals on the development and advancement of this sector, to increase and enhance our exports from it.
The Minister of Agriculture referred to a comprehensive development and cosmetic work for the infrastructure of the Agricultural Museum, in preparation for the launch of the Spring Flowers Exhibition, as it included the renovation of sidewalks and the internal road network using interlock tiles in large areas, to facilitate the movement of exhibitors and visitors, thanking the team Kamel Al -Wazir, Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development, for his great role in developing the museum, as well as for the cooperation of the governorates of Cairo, Giza and “FAO”.
For her part, Dr. Yasmine Fouad, Minister of Environment, stressed, during her participation in the opening of the “Spring Flowers” exhibition, that the exhibition is a unique opportunity to see the types of trees and various plants from all countries of the world, noting that the exhibition aims to raise awareness of the importance of trees in our daily lives, and to promote a return to nature, which is a basic message that the ministry seeks to establish for citizens.
She explained that the exhibition is witnessing wide international participation from the ambassadors of the European Union, Kuwait, China, Japan, Senegal, and other African countries.
The Minister of Environment added that the exhibition includes three main axes; The first focuses on displaying the types of rare plants grown in Egypt, while providing information on how to take care of them, while the second axis highlights handicrafts and heritage crafts, which highlight authentic Egyptian skills. As for the third axis, it is the promotion of afforestation, with the participation of a large number of manufacturers and exporters specializing in different types of trees.
Dr. Yasmine Fouad pointed out that one of the most prominent characteristics of the exhibition is to provide products at symbolic prices starting from only 5 pounds, provided by a number of agencies, including the ministries of agriculture, water resources and irrigation, and a number of governorates, including Cairo and Giza, with the aim of encouraging citizens to participate in afforestation efforts and return to nature, especially in light of the environmental challenges facing the world, such as climate change and desertification.
She pointed out that in the context of supporting handicrafts, work was done to integrate the “Diarna” exhibition within the exhibition’s activities, in order to promote Egyptian products under the slogan “Made in Egypt”, and highlight the ability of Egyptian hands to produce distinguished works that provide new job opportunities. The exhibition also includes rare types of flowers, some of which are imported and are locally grown in an appropriate agricultural tin, in preparation for reselling and publishing them.
Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Youth and Sports, also expressed his happiness to participate in the opening of the 92nd edition of the Spring Flowers Exhibition, stressing that this ancient event embodies every year a bright picture of Egyptian creativity, the state’s interest in the aesthetics of life and the integration of its efforts in protecting the environment and enhancing societal awareness.
He pointed out that participation today comes in the belief of the importance of environmental culture, the vital role of afforestation and cities beautification in improving the quality of life, which is consistent with the national trends towards sustainable development and preserving the natural resources of future generations.
The exhibition, with its workshops, and advanced models in agriculture and afforestation, represents an important opportunity to consolidate the concepts of environmental responsibility among young people and youth, which is a special attention to the Ministry of Youth and Sports, based on our vision to build a conscious generation, capable of protecting its environment, and making a more prosperous future.
On the other hand, Dr. Abdel Hakim Al -Wahr, Assistant Director General of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations “FAO”, expressed his happiness in conjunction with the Ministry of Agriculture in organizing the exhibition for the first time in its 92nd edition, noting that the participation of “FAO” aims to come out of the exhibition to the world by inviting countries to participate in its next version.
He added that the attendance of a large number of masters of ambassadors today to attend the opening of the exhibition is in this context, pointing out that the exhibition opens great job opportunities for young people, and contributes to improving the standard of living of small farmers, as well as opening large horizons for the producers and exporters of flowers and ornamental plants.
It is noteworthy that the Spring Flowers Gallery is the oldest and largest exhibition of flowers and ornamental plants in Egypt and the Middle East, and it constitutes an important platform for displaying the latest products and innovations in the fields of ornamental plants, flowers, wondspels, and garden supplies.
It also includes many accompanying events such as workshops and awareness seminars, artistic and cultural shows directed to all family members, which makes it an annual event that the public and those interested in this sector await.
