At the beginning of the session, the representative of the Secretary -General of the United Nations stressed the importance of the immediate return to the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, stressing the need to introduce humanitarian aid without delay.
The actress called on Israel to fully comply with international law, and respect humanitarian obligations towards civilians, and stressed the necessity of protecting medical staff and health facilities in the sector, calling on Israel to facilitate relief plans and provide a safe environment for the work of humanitarian teams.
She also stressed that the protection of civilians and vital facilities in Gaza is a legal and humanitarian commitment that must be respected.
The representative of the Secretary -General of the United Nations, during her speech, stressed the importance of protecting Palestinian civilians and sparing them to Israeli bombing, stressing that Israel is responsible for ensuring the security of Palestinian citizens.
She added that exposing civilians at risk is unacceptable in any way, stressing that Israel’s occupation of the Palestinian territories is a violation of international law, and it cannot exercise sovereignty over these lands.
The UN actress also stressed that the United Nations centers are protected under international law, noting that preventing Israel from the work of the Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees, UNRWA, is a clear violation of the international covenants.
