Sheikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Finance and National Economy, affirmed the continuation of the Kingdom of Bahrain to adopt initiatives and policies that prepare the supportive and stimulating environment for investment in a way that reflects positively on the development and growth of small and medium enterprises and is in the endeavors of diversification of the economic base, pointing to the prominent and pivotal role of small and medium enterprises in pushing development paths towards achieving the desired goals and aspirations.
This came when participating in the global forum for comprehensive Gigs 2025 for MasterCard, which is located in Washington, friendly United States And strategies that contribute to enhancing the process of digital transformation.
The Minister of Finance and National Economy indicated that investing in human capital had had a great impact in establishing a promising generation that has a passion for excellence in various fields, including the financial and business sector, pointing to the important role played by the private sector in the process of economic development and achieving the desired goals.
He also praised the role of the “Tamkeen” labor fund, which aims to advance the wheel of economic growth in the Kingdom by enhancing the position of the private sector as a major engine for economic growth, by supporting the growth and development of institutions, as well as developing the skills of Bahraini individuals and enhancing their opportunities in employment and job development to be the first and optimal option for employment in the labor market, and in line with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Issa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Fund Working by adopting a number of programs and initiatives that were designed in line with the needs of the labor market.
In a related context, he stressed that the partnership between the Empowerment Fund and the MasterCard Center for Comprehensive Growth aims to enhance training opportunities and expertise for small and medium companies in Bahrain to benefit from financial and digital tools to enhance their operations and increase their productivity, while enabling them to benefit from employing artificial intelligence and modern technologies.
On the sidelines of the summit, Her Majesty Queen Maxima met the Queen of the Netherlands, Mr. Michael Maybach, CEO of MasterCard, Mr. John Huntsman, Vice Chairman of MasterCard, and Mrs. Shamina Singh, Chairman of the Comprehensive Growth Center for MasterCard.
The forum was attended by Mr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Humaidan, Governor of the Central Bank, Sheikh Abdullah bin Rashid, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the friendly United States of America and a number of officials.
