Within the celebrations of the Egyptian Ministry of Culture on the forty -third anniversary of the liberation of Sinai, Dr. Ahmed Fouad Hanu, Minister of Culture, concluded the activities of the Sinai I of the Badia Arts, which was organized by the General Authority for Culture Palaces, headed by Khaled Al -Laban, and under the supervision of Mohamed Nassef, Vice -President of the Authority, where the forum was held at the Al -Arish Culture Palace, in the presence of Mohamed Moawad Aqel, Assistant Secretary General of North Sinai Governorate -on behalf of Major General Sinai, Amr Al -Bassiouni, the permanent undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture, and a number of popular and executive leaders in the governorate.
Dr. Ahmed Fouad Hano, Minister of Culture, stressed that the Sinai Forum for the Badia Arts represents an important cultural and national message that carries the values of pride in the Egyptian identity, and reflects the richness of the rooted Sinai heritage, and the establishment of the forum in Al -Arish reflects the state’s keenness to achieve cultural development in Egypt, and confirms that interest in the people of Sinai, enabling them culturally and supporting their authentic heritage, which is part of the diverse Egyptian heritage.
He pointed out that the Ministry is working to support creators in various fields, and highlight the popular heritage with all its privacy and diversity, by organizing such events that contribute to building the awareness of society and preserving its heritage, and that the celebration of the liberation of Sinai on the Sinai land is an affirmation of the role of culture and its enormous ability to enhance the spirit of belonging and safeguard the national identity.
The Minister of Culture also praised the level of the great mass attendance witnessed by the forum, and the positive extent of the interaction of the people of North Sinai with the events, which confirms that the Sinai character enjoys a high amount of sophistication and faith in the value of culture, and success is a strong incentive to continue to provide qualitative cultural activities that express the nature of this precious land, and that the Ministry of Culture will continue to organize more forums and festivals to support the creators, and enhance the role of culture. And the citizen.
Khaled Al -Laban stressed that this forum comes as a celebration of a precious anniversary in the heart of every Egyptian, is the liberation of the land of Sinai, because this forum is not just an artistic effectiveness or a passing cultural demonstration, but rather a real embodiment of the state’s belief in the importance of culture as a pivotal tool in the comprehensive development path, a pillar of building national awareness, and supporting belonging to the people of the country, especially in the land of Sinai, which was and still is a strategic depth Historically to Egypt, the forum embodied throughout its days a clear message, according to which the national culture is present, vibrant, and capable of extending the bridges between the past and the present, between identity and reality, between man and his heritage, in a living harmony that enhances the spirit of belonging, and opens new windows for hope.
Al -Labban thanked the Minister of Culture for his continuous support and confidence in the role of the General Authority for Culture Palaces.
Mohamed Abdel -Hafiz Nassef, Vice -President of the Authority, also expressed his happiness at establishing the Sinai I Forum for the Badia Arts, stressing that it comes as a culmination of the efforts of the Ministry of Culture and the General Authority of Culture Palaces, in celebrating the wealth of the authentic Sinai heritage, in celebration of the Sinai Liberation Day, the precious anniversary made by the blood of the martyrs and the determination of the Egyptians.
Nassef explained that the days of the forum represented a bright painting of the authentic popular and artistic creativity in a message of love and peace from the heart of the turquoise land to all parts of Egypt, to confirm that the liberation of Sinai will remain a immortal symbol of Egypt’s free will, and the strength of its people, which is only satisfied with sovereignty and dignity, stressing that the General Authority for Culture Palaces will remain keen on supporting Bedouin arts and the Sinai heritage and highlighting its bright features.
The opening of an exhibition for plastic arts
The closing activities included the opening of an exhibition of plastic arts for a distinguished group of Sinai artists, in addition to inspecting an art exhibition for a group of creative works, the product of artistic workshops accompanying the forum, in which a number of creators from the governorate participated, praising the distinguished creative level of artworks that reflect the huge capabilities that the Sinai sons possess on innovation, creativity and diversity, and another exhibition of the book that included the latest publications of the General Authority In the various fields of science and knowledge, directed at the importance of continuing to provide these publications to the people of Sinai at reduced prices to be available to all segments of society.
The events also included an artistic ceremony performed by the great artist Ahmed Ibrahim, accompanied by the Culture Palaces Band for Youth Songs, led by Maestro Wael Awad, in addition to the presentation of a documentary film entitled “The Heroes of All Time” directed by Mohamed Al -Durra, followed by an artistic presentation of the Al -Arish Folklore Band, during which a set of distinguished paragraphs of the Sinai heritage, led by the artist Sameh Al -Kashef, presented.
The activities witnessed the artist Ahmed Al -Shafi’i, Head of the Central Administration for Technical Affairs and the General Coordinator of the Forum, Mohamed Youssef, Chairman of the Central Administration for the Office of the President of the Authority, Dr. Shuaib Khalaf, President of the Channel Cultural Province, and a number of leaders of the authority.
It is noteworthy that the Sinai I of the Badia Arts Forum was implemented through the Central Administration for Technical Affairs, in cooperation with the Central Administration for Cultural Affairs, the Central Administration for Studies and Research, and in coordination with the Canal region and the Cultural Sinai, and the forum witnessed since its inception a set of artistic performances, literal and manual workshops, activities for children and exhibitions of books and heritage products, scientific seminars in addition to poetry evenings with the participation of a group Badia poets.
