The International Parliamentary Union, within the report of “Parliamentary Procedures on Artificial Intelligence”, reviewed the initiatives of the Shura Council within the set of initiatives related to artificial intelligence implemented in national parliaments, including the legislation and applied practices.
The International Parliamentary Union indicated through its official website that parliamentary procedures were monitored in 26 countries, including the Kingdom of Bahrain, where he mentioned among these initiatives the proposal of the law submitted by a number of happiness with the Shura Council members regarding the organization of artificial intelligence technologies and its uses, which was referred to the esteemed government during the twenty -eighth session in the second session of the sixth legislative chapter.
In this context, the International Parliamentary Union also reviewed the initiative of the Council’s General Secretariat to organize a discussion episode entitled (Future Trends, Adopting Chances of Artificial Intelligence and expanding the role of Parliament in dealing with it), as part of the parliamentary support program directed to the members of the Shura Council, and in cooperation with the Center for His Highness Sheikh Nasser for Research and Development in Artificial Intelligence.
