Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and Chairman of the Egyptian National Committee for Education, Science and Culture, stressed the importance of the role played by the National Committee in implementing national, regional and international projects, in cooperation with UNESCO organizations, Alexu and ESCO, explaining that these efforts contribute to achieving Egypt’s 2030 vision, and enhances Egyptian representation in international forums concerned with education, culture and science, as well as supporting cooperation with these organizations in the areas of education Higher, scientific research, innovation, and enhance the exchange of experiences at the Arab, African and international levels.
The door for applying for the Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa Award for 2025 was opened
In this context, the Egyptian National Committee for UNESCO, in cooperation with UNESCO, announced the opening of the door to apply for the Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa Award for the use of information technology and communication in education for the year 2025.
For his part, Dr. Ayman Farid, Assistant Minister for Strategic Planning, Training and Rehabilitation of the Labor Market, and Head of the Cultural Affairs and Mission Sector, and the supervisor of the Egyptian National Committee for Education, Science and Culture, explained that this award was established in 2005 with funding from the Kingdom of Bahrain, with the aim of enhancing the use of creations and innovations in the field of information technology and communication for the benefit of education, and rewarding distinguished efforts for individuals, institutions and organizations. Government, which contributes a great contribution to providing projects and activities characterized by best practices and innovative uses of information technology and communication in order to enhance learning and educational performance in general.
The supervisor of the Egyptian National Committee for Education, Science and Culture noted that this award aims to honor individuals and organizations who create a new approach in the context of the use of modern technologies to expand educational opportunities, by ensuring that everyone uses good education and lifelong learning opportunities, in line with the fourth goal of the sustainable development goals of 2030, concerned with education.
For her part, Dr. Hala Abdel -Gawad, Assistant Secretary -General of the National Committee for UNESCO, stressed that the award is interested in its version for this year by celebrating the twentieth anniversary of its establishment, and addresses the topic: Preparing learners and teachers for moral and responsible use of artificial intelligence, where projects that enable young generations and stakeholders in the field of education are honored to acquire basic skills in artificial intelligence, what It helps them to develop critical thinking and achieve the maximum benefit from this technology that is already widespread.
Each country nominates 4 projects for the award, and an international committee specializes at UNESCO headquarters in Paris choose only two prominent projects, and each winner receives an amount of $ 25,000, in addition to an international appreciation and recognition certificate granted during the annual award ceremony.
It is worth noting that the deadline for its maximum will be on April 21, and the nominations received after the specified date or not fulfilled the selection criteria according to the prize conditions, where those wishing to apply from here can be applied.
