Education Street in the East Assiut neighborhood witnessed a tragic accident this morning, following the collapse of a residential property consisting of several floors, which resulted in casualties and injuries.
The Civil Protection Forces managed to retrieve the first victim from the rubble, while rescue teams continued search for potential survivors, using heavy equipment and rescue dogs, amid a state of anticipation and sadness among the people.
According to preliminary information, the property was inhabited by three families at the time of collapse, and the relevant agencies are currently working to ensure the number of victims and missing persons, with a security collar imposed on the site of the accident.
A number of security and executive leaders moved to the scene to follow up the situation, while a number of ambulances were paid to transport the injured to Assiut University Hospital to receive the necessary medical care.
