Dr. Ali Al -Ghamrawi, Chairman of the Egyptian Pharmaceutical Authority, held an expanded meeting with representatives of Abbott International, to discuss the latest developments in the file of localization of some medical preparations in Egypt.

The meeting came with the aim of discussing the executive steps to localize the preparations, reviewing the measures taken and the current challenges facing the technological transport plan and starting local production, in addition to discussing innovative solutions to deal with the challenges of pricing for the preparation.
The head of the commission stressed the importance of moving forward in implementing the Emiratisation plan according to the proposed schedule, ensuring the start of local production as soon as possible, which contributes to improving the availability of preparations and supporting the Egyptian market, stressing the Egyptian Medicine Authority’s complete keenness to provide the necessary support to the company in order to overcome any obstacles facing the implementation of the project, praising the constructive cooperation that brings the authority to Abbut Company, and the importance of continuing coordination to achieve self -sufficiency from the drug, and promoting National capabilities towards advanced and sustainable pharmaceutical industry.
While the company’s delegation praised the great efforts made by the Egyptian Drug Authority in order to support the Egyptian drug industry and support the market, prepare the appropriate climate to attract investments, provide all the necessary support to companies, and to provide competitive rules according to the indicators of transparency and equal opportunities.
This came within the framework of the Egyptian Pharmaceutical Authority’s keenness to enhance the bonds of communication with industry partners, and work to localize priority preparations for the Egyptian citizen according to the state’s plan for resettlement, attracting more investments and expanding the scope of the Egyptian drug market by opening the horizon to the flow of Egyptian medical preparations to the neighboring markets, especially within the African continent.
