An official delegation from the Central Bank of Bahrain headed by the governor, Mr. Khaled Ibrahim Humaidan, went on an official visit to the International settlement bank in Basel, Switzerland. This came within the framework of efforts to support the stability of the monetary and financial systems by enhancing joint cooperation with the most prominent international financial institutions.
This visit comes as part of a series of initiatives of the Central Bank of Bahrain concerned with consolidating strategic partnerships with international organizations. The Governor met with Mr. Agoussin Carstein, Director General of the International Settlement Bank, and a number of senior officials, to discuss ways to develop existing cooperation, exchange visions on the most prominent global financial challenges and future trends of the financial services sector.
In a statement on this occasion, Mr. Khaled Ibrahim Humaidan, Governor of the Central Bank of Bahrain, said: “This visit reflects our continuous commitment to strengthening partnerships with international institutions, especially in light of the rapid challenges and changes taking place in the financial sector around the world.
The visit was an important opportunity for the Central Bank of Bahrain to expand communication channels with international partners, such as the Bank of International Settlements, with the aim of opening the prospects for cooperation with regard to exchanging knowledge and technical experiences, which is in favor of achieving financial sustainability,
