The Arab Gulf University has achieved a prominent academic achievement by entering for the first time the “Times for Higher Education” classification of Asian universities for the year 2025, as it came within the category 201-250 out of 853 participating universities from 35 countries. The university is the only Bahraini Foundation included in this classification, which reflects the remarkable progress in the quality of education and scientific research in the Kingdom.

The “Times for Higher Education” classification depends on 18 major indicators that evaluate the performance of universities in the fields of education, research environment, research quality, knowledge transfer, and international openness.

The Arab Gulf University has recorded a distinguished performance in the “International Openness” index by obtaining 93.5 out of 100, supported by the percentage of international students of 70% and 6.5 students for each faculty member, according to data of the world rankings for universities for the year 2025.

The Arab Gulf University was established in 1980 in Manama with the support of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, and focuses on meeting the needs of Gulf societies by providing unique educational programs, such as the Bachelor of Medicine on Problem -based learning, in addition to advanced technical programs in geographical information systems and remote sensing.

This achievement is a strategic step towards enhancing Bahrain’s position in the field of higher education, and opens new horizons for regional and international research cooperation, which supports the Kingdom’s vision in building an economy based on knowledge and innovation.
