«Tender»: A solar power station on the University of Bahrain’s campus with 4.6 million dinars

Yesterday, the Board of Tenders and Auctions opened the envelopes of 6 tenders that are offered by 26 bids, which included various projects in the energy, transportation, oil services, and health sectors, most notably the establishment of a solar power plant on the campus of the University of Bahrain and the new electricity transmission stations project with 4.6 million dinars, for the project of building new electricity transmission stations, 66 kW, with 33 million dinars.

The Electricity and Water Authority launched a tender for the establishment of a photovoltaic solar power station on the campus of the University of Bahrain, with a capacity of no less than 44 megawatts in climax, and the authority aims through the project to generate about 75 gigawatts per hour annually.

The authority indicated that the tender will be carried out by the “key delivery” system, and includes engineering, design and manufacturing works, material supply, installation, tests, and operation, in addition to civil and electromechanical works. Two companies competed for the tender, and the least bids provided reached 4.6 million dinars.

In the same context, the authority is working on a project to build new power transmission stations, 66 km, to meet the growing demand for electricity in different areas of Bahrain, where three companies have made the least bid of 31.3 million dinars.

For its part, Bapco Refining Company launched a tender to supply new equipment for the port of Sitra and the port of the new island, to compensate for the current equipment that was described as old and dilapidated. The new equipment aims to enhance the flexibility of shipping operations, as 4 companies were submitted to the tender, and the least bids amounted to 440.6 thousand dinars.

Bapco Exploration and Production Company also launched two tenders, the first related to directional drilling and registration during the drilling, and includes supplying equipment and materials, providing employees and technical support services, and the tender provided five companies with the least bid of 24.5 million dinars.

As for the second tender, it aims to provide processes and geological services in the locations of the land and marine wells, to support the company’s activities inside Bahrain, and 8 companies have competed with the lowest bid of 2.4 million dinars. While the Ministry of Health proposed a tender to supply tingling needles and sugar testing tapes, to meet the needs of heart patients with diabetes and patients that are not disciplined under the treatment of insulin of the first and second types, where 4 competed 4 Companies on the tender, and the least bids amounted to 45 thousand dinars.
