French President Emmanuel Macron mourned Pope Francis, who died today, Monday, at the age of 88, praising his humanitarian career and his supportive positions for weak and marginalized groups.

The French President added: He has struggled throughout his life for more justice and a specific idea of humanity, fraternal humanity that believes in solidarity and dignity for all, and stressed that the death of the Pope caused great sadness in France and through the world.
It is noteworthy that Pope Francis had wide appreciation in international circles, thanks to his repeated calls for peace and social justice, and his efforts to enhance dialogue between religions and his support for the issues of the poor and the marginalized.
