Voting on the budget of the next two years and reviewing future development programs
Sheikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa, President of the Asian Football Confederation of Football Association, will chair the first and thirty meeting of the AFC, tomorrow, Saturday, in the Malaysian capital, Kuala Lumpur.
The meeting will be held at the Shangri -Lumpur Hotel, where the members will vote on the audited financial statements and the report of the auditors for the year 2024, the year that witnessed the organization of 16 historical championships by the Asian Football Confederation, including the Asian Cup Qatar 2023, in addition to the start of a new era of continental championships at the club level with its updated system.
Members will also vote on the federation’s budget for the two years 2025 and 2026, which aims to activate a group of the largest reforms in the history of Asian football.
As usual in the previous meetings of the General Assembly, extensive details will be provided about the leading programs in the fields of education, development, technical aspects, and arbitration.
It is expected that Sheikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa, President of the Asian Football Confederation, will review the recent successes of the Federation, in addition to the efforts made to upgrade the level of the beautiful game throughout the continent.
Sheikh Salman bin Ibrahim welcomed all members of the General Assembly, considering that the general assembly meeting is an ideal platform for evoking the Asian football unit and its glow and a distinguished way to establish the active partnership outputs between the Asian Union and the national federations.
Sheikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa stressed that the continuous development of football in the Asian continent reflected the full commitment to the institutional construction paths of the game, which in harmony with the spirit of Asian unity and the effectiveness of the national federations that participated in these fruitful successes at the level of clubs and teams, which strengthened the influential presence and upward numbers witnessed in the Asian tournaments year after year.
“Together we created a path for development and together we have proven to the world the capabilities of the Asian continent and its great position and the diversity of the geography of successes. After we celebrated the amazing success that the world witnessed by hosting Qatar World Cup 2022, passing the ninth edition of the Women’s World Cup in Australia with the participation of New Zealand, today we look at the ambition to host the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia For the 2034 World Cup, which won the highest historical evaluation of the files presented to host the largest tournament in the world after a remarkable success of the World Cup 2023 World Cup in Jeddah, which embodies the great position of the Asian continent. “
Sheikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa stressed that the consolidation of institutional work in the paths of the Asian Union clearly showed the extent of commitment to rational governance as a safety valve that everyone feels the unity of work, the identity of the path and the accuracy of the targets.
He added: “In a few years, the Asian Football Confederation showed stability in developing the system of football competitions for teams and clubs to harmonize with the high spirit of football passion and the targets of professional standards, marketing and club support through the largest financial incentive package, in conjunction with the commitment to the support of regional and national federations and we will continue with all construction of construction on all jumps in order to fit football in Asia”
The President of the Asian Football Confederation concluded his statement by emphasizing “the formation of the AFC reform team for the period from 2023 to 2027 is a clear indication of our intention to ensure that we remain a model continental federation that continues to adhere to the highest moral standards and best governance practices for future generations of our great game.”
