The Executive Office of the Asian Football Confederation expressed its full and unified support for the appeal of the President of the Federation, Sheikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa, that a quick decision on the proposal presented by the Palestinian Football Association to the seventy -fourth general assembly of the International Football Association, which was held in Bangkok during the month of May last year.
Sheikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa reiterated in his closing speech during the meeting of the executive office, which was held last Friday in the Malaysian capital, Kuala Lumpur, supported the established Asian Federation of the Palestinian Federation, saying: We appreciate the steps taken by the International Football Association, but we hope to reach a faster solution to this issue that belongs to one of our members, the Palestinian Football Association. All we demand is for the relevant bodies in the International Federation to study the file and make clear decisions, because the issue has been over.
In a statement made to the official Asian Union website after the conclusion of the thirty -fifth general assembly of the Asian Federation, His Excellency Sheikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa said: The results of the Disciplinary, Governance, Auditing, and Compliance Committees in the International Federation should be announced as soon as possible, I previously stressed during the meetings of the UN Football Association on the need to reach a solution, and if there is those who object to any decision, then he can resort to the judicial authority in the federation International and/or to the Sports Arbitration Court (CAS) to present its position.
Sheikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa also stressed the importance of protecting the principles of fair play, equality and solidarity, which is the main pillars of the world football family.
He added: We stand in solidarity with the Palestinian football family and all those affected by the existing conflict, and we emphasize the need for accountability. The Asian Federation has followed the developments of the situation closely, and we would like to highlight the importance of responding to the demands of the Palestinian Union in a timely manner, in line with the global principles of fair play.
