Today, Thursday, two delegations from the United States of America and Russia will hold a round of talks in Istanbul, Turkey, at the Russian General Consulate, to discuss bilateral relations between the two countries.
According to the Turkish Anatolia Agency, quoting diplomatic sources, the meeting between the American and Russian delegations will be held at 10:00 am at the Russian General Consulate in Istanbul.
The Russian News Agency, TASS, quoted the Ministry of Foreign Affairs that the Moscow delegation will be headed by Alexander Darchiv, who is expected to hold the position of the new Russian ambassador to Washington, while the American delegation is headed by the Deputy Assistant US Secretary of State for Russia and Central Europe, Sonata Coulter.

The US State Department spokeswoman Tami Bruce said that the second meeting between the delegations of her country and Russia in Istanbul on April 10 has nothing to do with Ukraine’s security, explaining that the American and Russian delegations will meet in Istanbul and meet for the second time to try to make progress in enhancing the stability of the work of bilateral missions.
She added: There will be no political or security issues on the agenda of talks, and that Ukraine will certainly not be on the agenda of this meeting, and these talks will focus on our embassy operations only, and not to normalize bilateral relations in general, and this will only be achieved by achieving peace between Russia and Ukraine.
