Royal attention to orphans leads them to excellence and creativity

On the first Friday of April of each year, the Arab world celebrates the Arab Orphan Day, which is the day that is dedicated to highlighting orphans issues and raising awareness of their rights, problems and concerns, and organizes activities and initiatives aimed at improving the life of orphans, providing moral and material support to them, and encouraging societies to contribute to supporting orphans, working to improve their conditions, and providing them with opportunities to live in dignity Their goals in a decent life.

Bahrain shares the Arab countries on this occasion to consolidate its interest in this group of society, especially after its leadership has proven to embrace the orphan by turning feelings of loss into giving.

The Kingdom is keen to extend a helping hand and pay attention to the orphan category under the direct patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the king of the country’s great country, and the great parental interest attaches to the orphans, and with constant support from the government headed by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in recognition of the status of the orphan child and preferred his sponsorship to God Almighty.

Today we are witnessing success stories of a number of orphans who were able to turn the stage of pain into success, and feelings of loss into giving, they did not surrender to the feelings of sadness, but rather made them a motive for excellence and creativity, as the day of the Arab orphan was allocated and shed light on this group of society.

The Royal Humanitarian Foundation has since its establishment has provided all forms of living, educational, health, psychological and social care for orphans, as well as training in many skills to support them in achieving special projects that enable them to increase their income, and the Foundation has achieved the principle of social partnership with many bodies to provide more services, and the Foundation is led by His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Acts And youth affairs, to achieve an investment financial structure that guarantees the continuity of the work of this large human entity to provide assistance and assistance to all those in need of our dear kingdom and relief from the afflicted people and brotherly and friendly countries.

The Royal Foundation for Humanitarian Works programs is a special statement for “Al -Watan”, the Foundation clarified that the total of orphans sponsored from establishment until now is 17607 orphans, with 8308 male orphans, and 9299 orphans of females.

As for the number of orphans currently guaranteed, it is 3897 orphans, with 1798 orphans, and 2099 orphans of females.

From the beginning of the year 2024 until now, the association organized 231 orphans, at the rate of 60 activities and entertainment program, 47 activities and development program and training program, 21 activities and artistic program, and 103 events and community support programs, and the number of participants in all events and programs since the beginning of 2024 and until now 7259 orphans, with 3512 orphans from Males, 3747 orphans of females.

In order to realize the importance of responsibility towards the rights of the orphan, the wise leadership assigned the Ministry of Social Development to the task of caring for and supporting orphans and ensuring their rights by providing various forms of living, social, health, psychological and educational care.

In addition, all kinds of social and economic support are provided to orphans who do not have a breadwinner, as this group of beneficiaries of the provisions of Law No. (18) of 2008 for social security is provided.

From this standpoint, the Ministry is keen to integrate orphans into society by enhancing communication with its various segments and providing an integrated educational environment commensurate with all their growth stages. The Child Welfare House is one of the most prominent centers that provide specialized services to take care of orphans with the aim of qualifying them to become good individuals who contribute to building the country and maintaining their national and Islamic identity. In addition, the Ministry provided the family custody service to Bahraini families to take care of orphans and raise them according to the laws and laws related to this.

This service aims to protect the rights of orphans and organize their embrace in a manner that ensures the achievement of the social integration of this group in society.

The Arab Orphan Day at the Ministry of Social Development is celebrated through organizing events and programs within the framework of societal partnership and in cooperation with civil society institutions and relevant authorities.
