The researchers analyzed samples of the cervical tissue of 39 women from Tanzania, including those who were afflicted with S. Haematobium’s parasites, and others were not injured, and the injured were treated with the drug “Brazicuantel”, which is known for its effectiveness against the adult worms, and samples were gathered before and after treatment for a period ranging between four and 12 months.
The study showed that there are nine genes that were acted differently in the injured compared to non -injured. After treatment, additional changes appeared in 23 genes in women who were sought, and 29 generations in the treatment of treatment compared to those who have never been injured.
“These molecular changes indicate a possibility of a relationship between the previous infection and an increase in cell capacity for cancerous transformation.
