The Science, Technology and Innovation Finance Authority (STDF), in cooperation with the German Academic Exchange Foundation (DAAD), has announced the opening of progress for the fifteenth call for the “German Egyptian Scientific Exchange for Excellence Development” program, which aims to support research cooperation between the Egyptian and German sides through the exchange of scientific visits between researchers.
The program aims to enhance cooperation between the research teams, while providing an opportunity in particular for young researchers, master’s and doctorate students to participate in mutual scientific visits that continue until two years, which contributes to transferring knowledge, exchanging experiences, and building research capabilities.
The period of scientific visits to the participants in the program includes as follows:
• For researchers: Don’t exceed one month annually.
• Youth of researchers (Master and PhD students): from 3 to 6 months annually.
Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, stressed that the program reflects the state’s keenness to support academic and scientific cooperation with Germany, in a way that enhances the competitiveness of the system of higher education and scientific research in Egypt, and supports young cadres, and contributes to linking scientific research to the industry and sustainable development.
For his part, Dr. Walaa Sheta, CEO of the Science, Technology and Innovation Finance Authority, explained that the program represents a successful model for bilateral cooperation, and is a valuable opportunity for Egyptian researchers to expand their scientific horizons, stressing that the authority continues to provide technical support to build effective partnerships with international research institutions.
