Al -Malab newspaper – The Egyptian star Mohamed Salah, the Liverpool player, announced today, Friday, the extension of his contract with the team after 8 successful years spent in the ranks of “Reds”, to put an end to the continuous controversy over his future.
The announcement came through the club’s official website and his accounts on social media, where he published a picture of the Egyptian player on a throne attached to the phrase “will remain”, in reference to his remaining essential element in the club’s journey.
The English club did not specify the duration of the new contract for the 32-year-old Egyptian goalscorer, as it was satisfied with his announcement of a sentence: “Salah signed a new contract that keeps him with the club after the 2024-2025 season.”
Although the official period of the contract was not disclosed, media reports, most notably the British newspaper “Daily Mail” that Salah had signed a contract that extends for two additional seasons after the end of the 2024-2025 season, to remain with the team until the summer of 2027.
The reports also stated that his weekly salary will reach 350 thousand pounds, in a move that reflects a change in the club’s contractual policy to meet the player’s ambitions.
Salah expressed his happiness at the decision to renew in a enthusiastic message he posted on his personal account in Instagram and on the official Liverpool website, saying: “Of course I am very excited. We have a great team now, and we have a great team in the past as well. But I fell because I believe that we have an opportunity to win other titles and enjoy football.”
He added: “I spent the best years of my life here. I played 8 years, and I hope you become 10 years. I enjoy my life here, and I enjoy football. I have lived the best years of my career in Liverpool.”
The future of Salah was suspicious after reports that linked him to the transfer to the Saudi League or other European clubs, especially with the delay in renewing his contract due to lengthy negotiations between the two parties.
