The committee explained that the project’s goals are to serve the Abu Sobh Corniche visitors by providing safe and comfortable places for the Corniche visitors, which enhances the enjoyment of entertainment facilities, and facilitating the arrival of the Abu Sobh Mosque visitors to ensure the availability of comfortable positions for the worshipers, in addition to supporting the visitors of the marine port by providing appropriate positions for the fishermen and visitors, which facilitates the process of transporting tools and fishing, in addition to providing Near parking for shoppers and sellers, which contributes to the ease of loading and downloading goods.
The project also aims to reduce the congestion resulting from the interruption of cars indiscriminately in the targeted areas, and to provide a better experience for the visitors by facilitating the arrival of visitors to the Corniche, the mosque, the port and the market to their destinations without the hassle of searching for a situation, reducing accidents and risks associated with the corner of the car in non -designated places and improving the urban organization by exploiting the spaces in an effective way that supports the development of the region, and maintains their attractiveness. In addition to supporting commercial and tourism activities by improving visitors’ access to markets and tourist and marine facilities; This reflects positively on the economic movement.
Accordingly, the Technical Support Unit saw that there is no objection to establishing public parking lots on part of Yard Al -Daraz; Due to the presence of many facilities and activities surrounding it, in addition to the increase in parking lots increases the smooth flow of traffic and the exploitation of a part of the municipal property in the service of citizens. The Council unanimously agreed to raise the recommendation.
