The Ministry of Municipalities announced the completion of the implementation of 16 out of 60 initiatives included in the Ministry’s strategic plan for the years 2023-2026, explaining that the plan includes 18 strategic goals, supported by 60 initiatives and 49 indicators to measure performance.

This came during the review of the head of the Strategic Planning Department of Municipal Affairs, Amal Al-Kooheji, the Ministry’s strategic plan for the years 2023-2026, during the session of the Municipal Municipal Council held yesterday morning, where the main goals, initiatives and indicators that focus on the plan were highlighted.

The representative of the ministry explained that 16 out of 60 initiatives have been completed, while 44 initiatives are still being implemented. As for the indicators, they are distributed over 4 quarterly indicators, 19 bi -annually, and 26 annually.

The first goal in the plan was entitled “Providing high -quality municipal services”, and this is measured by the Excellence Index in service centers.

The second goal is to “strengthen partnership with international organizations”, and is measured by a commitment to the requirements of these organizations, in addition to the percentage of participation in their activities and activities.

With regard to the third goal, “effective cooperation with local partners”, it included a number of indicators, most notably the number of meetings with associations, institutions and investors in the fields of livestock and poultry, meetings with government agencies related to joint projects in the municipal and agricultural sector, in addition to meetings with developed companies, municipal councils, and agricultural institutions.

The fourth goal is to “develop the animal resource”, and it is measured by several indicators, including the percentage of immune animals, the percentage of veterinary facilities violations in which measures were taken, the proportion of epidemiological foci of endemic diseases, and the numbers of loose dogs that have been controlled.

Al -Kooheji pointed out that one of the initiatives included in this goal is the epidemiological investigation program and the fight against animal diseases, to follow up the rehabilitation of investment lands for the private sector in the animal field, to update the legislation regulating the sector, in addition to the initiative to establish the “Halal Bahraini” center.

The plan touched on the goal of increasing the green area, as it included indicators such as the number of cultivated trees, and the number of crop plant trees, while the most prominent initiatives were to launch community partnerships to enhance afforestation.

At the end of the presentation, the Ministry’s representative confirmed that the plan is based on clear performance indicators, and aims to raise the efficiency of municipal and agricultural services and enhance sustainability and local and international cooperation within the framework of a comprehensive vision of development.
