More than 250 former Mossad officials signed a message calling for a cease -fire in the war with Hamas and the return of all hostages.
Thus, these former officials join calls recently by doctors, the warriors of unit 8200 and members of the Israeli Air Force.
The letter, which took over the initiative of its high -level responsible for the former Mossad, Jail Shorch, carried the signatures of three former Mossad chiefs: Danny Yatom, Afraim Halevi and Tamir Bardo – in addition to dozens of heads of departments and their deputies within the Mossad.
“We, the intelligence men and the special agencies in the Mossad, who have devoted many years to preserving the security of the state, will not continue to stand idly by,” said the letter, which was reported by the Israeli newspaper “Yediot Aharonot”.
They added, “We express our full support for the message of reserve and pilot doctors, which also reflects our deep concern over the future of the country.”
And they continued: “We are joining the call for immediate action to reach an agreement to return all the 59 kidnappers to their homes, without delay, even if it is at the expense of stopping hostilities.”
And they concluded their message by saying: “The sanctity of life, sovereignty of the Prime Minister, precedes revenge.”
This message comes at a time when Israeli sources estimate that there is progress in the ongoing negotiations on the ceasefire and the release of hostages detained in Gaza, noting that there are “great transformations in the Hamas position.”
