2000 dentists appeal to the Minister of Higher Education to solve the crisis of their certificates

Dr. Amr Mohamed Samri, the group’s coordinator, said in a statement that there are more than 2000 dentists who suffer from the lack of equivalence of their certificates in some Arab countries, especially the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, due to the difference in the name of Egyptian certificates from the approved international names. Where the certificates are issued under the name of the installed or motive Sunni replacement, while the international recognition is required to be under the name of a unified Master of the Sunni replacement.

Samri pointed out that this crisis disrupted many professional opportunities for doctors abroad, which caused severe material and professional damage to them, despite their fulfillment of all academic requirements.

The group coordinator revealed that the General Syndicate of Dentists headed by Dr. Ihab Heikal was raised this problem to the relevant authorities 4 years ago, and suggested that the graduates complete some subjects through the term or study of study to amend the name, but the decision has been suspended without implementation until now.

The doctors emphasized that their project demand is to amend the name of their certificates only without the need to completely re -study, in a way that keeps pace with international standards and guarantees them their professional rights, similar to the graduates of Al -Azhar University, who were recently granted the right to complete some subjects to unify the name of their certificates under the title of Sunni in dentistry – Prosthodontics.

Dr. Samri added that the affected doctors are demanding equality, stressing the importance of urgent action from the Supreme Council of Universities to approve the amendment of the name, in order to preserve the future of Egyptian medical cadres and to emphasize the continuity of Egypt’s pioneering role in graduating internationally recognized doctors.

Samri concluded: We are not asking more than our legitimate right to amend the name of the certificate in accordance with international norms, in order to preserve the dignity of the Egyptian doctor at home and abroad, and we appeal to the officials to quickly end this crisis in order to ensure our career.
